Jesus appeared to His followers a number of times during the forty days that He was upon earth after His resurrection. He met some of the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, where they were fishing. At this time Peter was restored in his office as a disciple and together with the others commanded to preach the gospel.
When Jesus met His disciples on a mountain in Galilee Jesus promised to be with them and gave the Great Commission to teach all nations and baptize them.
Forty days after the resurrection Jesus took His disciples on a mountain where He told them to wait in Jerusalem until He would send the Holy Spirit. After Jesus blessed them He was taken up out of their sight.
